Shannon was born and raised in Sudbury, and earned an Honours Bachelor of Science from Laurentian University in 2004. She obtained her LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 2007, and after articling with the firm was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008. In June 2013, she achieved her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in General Law from York University (Osgoode Hall).

Shannon practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation. She is experienced as an advocate in family law matters including issues of custody, access, support, and property, and appears regularly at the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, as well as acting as per diem Duty Counsel for Legal Aid Ontario. She also advocates for clients in the context of negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, including the preparation of domestic contracts.

When not in the courtroom, Shannon keeps busy with her two young sons, and enjoys being involved in and giving back to the Sudbury community.
